Privacy Policy for Officetools-Pro

Protecting your privacy and your data is the fundamental principle of our product. Officetools-Pro was developed according to the “Privacy by Design” principle. All processing of your spreadsheet content occurs locally within your Google Workspace environment.

1. Data Processing and Access (How We Use Scopes)

To provide its services, Officetools-Pro requires specific permissions (Scopes) within your Google Account. We follow the principle of data minimization:

  • Google Sheets: We access your spreadsheets solely to perform requested functions like “Error-Shield” (modifying formulas) or “Clean-Slate” (cleaning formatting). This processing happens exclusively via Google Apps Script within your session.

  • Google Drive: We use the Drive scope specifically for the PDF Auto-Exporter feature. The add-in only accesses your Drive to create a dedicated folder (“Officetools_Exports”) and save the PDF files you choose to export. We do not read, modify, or delete any other files in your Drive.

  • Google Calendar: Access is used exclusively for the Professional Calendar Export feature. The add-in only creates new calendar events based on the data you have selected in your spreadsheet. We do not read your existing calendar entries.

  • External Requests: We use this permission to communicate with Stripe to verify your subscription status.

2. No Data Transfer to External Servers

  • Local Execution: No content from your spreadsheets is ever transferred to our servers or any third party. All algorithms run directly in your Google environment.

  • No Training Data: Your data is never used to train machine learning models or for any analytical purposes.

3. License Verification and Payment Information

  • Email Address: To verify your Pro status, we process your email address. This is transmitted to us securely via Stripe during the purchase and stored in our licensing system within the Google Cloud environment.

  • Payment Processing: All payments are handled by the certified provider Stripe. We never have access to, nor do we store, your credit card details or bank information. Stripe’s own privacy policy applies to the transaction.

4. Data Storage and Retention

  • Spreadsheet Data: We store zero data from your spreadsheets.

  • License Information: We retain your email address and subscription status only for as long as your license is active or as required by tax and legal obligations.

5. Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. This does not include trusted third parties (like Google or Stripe) who assist us in operating our service, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
